Reception and cultural programme at the heart of the halls
The central axis is the public backbone of the Van Gendt Hallen, with the tree artwork at its centre. The axis links the five halls Dolf van Gendt designed for Werkspoor in 1897, and it is the route every visitor takes. This is where receptions and cultural programmes land that add to the story of the halls. Because the axis is the building's thoroughfare, we programme it deliberately sparingly.
