The largest hall, for conferences, fairs and dinners
Room 1/2A is where the scale of the building shows most clearly: steel trusses along its full length, with daylight through the saw-tooth roofs. Dolf van Gendt designed the halls in 1897 for the Werkspoor machine works, where around 1905 a thousand people built rolling stock. The hall takes a conference floor, an exhibition floor or a gala dinner, and combines with the gallery for reception and breakouts.
